Catalyst LIVE Notes // Andy Stanley on Uncommon Fellowship
I’m live blogging from Catalyst Conference. Catalyst is a next-generation conference that embolden leaders from all over the world. The theme of Catalyst for 2016 is “Uncommon Fellowship.” Andy Stanley is a senior pastor of North Point Ministries
Uncommon Fellowship.
Definition: Head-turning, jaw-dropping, never-would’ve-imagined association.
The only the 12 disciples had in common was Jesus. Jesus modeled it.
People who were nothing like Jesus like Jesus, Jesus liked them back.
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my ekklesia.
Jesus didn’t predict a place. He predicted a people.
“My prayer is not for them alone, I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message” – John 17:20
Unselfish love is what fuels fuel injects uncommon fellowship.
What Uncommon Fellowship looks like.
- Forgive one another.
- Encourage one another.
- Restore one another.
- Accept one another.
- Care one another.
- Submit one another.
- Carry one another’s burdens.
- Bear with one another.
The early church fought for it. Uncommon = Uncomfortable
If your theology separates you from sinners like you, you may have some work to do.
