Chris Brown on How Generosity Unlocks Wonder
I’m live blogging from Catalyst Conference. Catalyst is a next-generation conference that embolden leaders from all over the world. The theme of Catalyst for 2015 is “Awaken the Wonder.” Wonder invites potential. Wonder provides vision. Wonder inspires. Wonder leads us to God. Chris Brown is a dynamic pastor and speaker who joined the Dave Ramsey team in 2014 to carry the message of stewardship and intentional living to churches across the country.
Wonder is a great thing, but worry often chokes the wonder out of my life. Wonder gets choked down by familiarity and by distraction. I am distracted by how many likes I got from the last post.
Life happens. How do we get it back? How do we awaken the wonder in our lives? My script was flipped. Sometimes we get so trapped in worry that we don’t understand. We need to be captivated by wonder and gratitude. Gratitude is the key that unlocks wonder. We need to stop being so callous and thanking God everything God has done in our lives. We get to be the hand and feet of Jesus. We get to see lives change. We get to see families overcome. So often, we are so worried about the next promotion. Instead, we need to get entrenched so thankful for what we are doing now.
If we as leaders we want to awaken the wonder, we need to be intentional about. Generosity is the key to unlock wonder. There are immature wonder and mature wonder. Immature wonder is based on receiving and mature wonder is based on giving. When we give others and see the response from people, it mirrors back to us. You create wonder in your own life as well.
