Today’s My Birthday. Can I Ask You a Big Favor?

Yup, today’s my birthday. I’m 28 years old now. Lived 10,226 days now.

It’s a profound moment to reflect back life and see how God, the Grand Weaver, has weaved a beautiful tapestry in my life.

It took me a long time to realize that my life is not just random and meaningless strands of thread. Instead, my life is a designed precisely woven with remarkable care, thought, and intent.

Will I get to live for another 50-60 more years?

Who knows.

As someone who is immersed with the future and the ideal, I find myself often living in the future. Though this helped me “see” things most people don’t see, I found myself not content with the present.

So, today, I’m going to be intentional and enjoy the day. I’m going to take this time to thank people around me for the great influence they’ve made in my life. The reason why I am here today is because of the positive influence of others.

If you’ve been a reader of my blog for some time, I want to let you know that I’m honored and blessed. Over the last several years, I’ve made cherished relationships with people over my blog. If you’re one of them, thank you. Thank you for your time, love, and care.

Now, here’s one big favor I’d like to ask. You know how much I want to grow to my greatest potential. I believe God uses our strength to do His work. Please help me by giving objective feedback on the following question.

Question: What makes me unique? What makes me stand out? What’s your favorite moment with me where I shined? What are the strengths that will help me fulfill my calling?ย

  • Happy Birthday Paul..Now I feel really really old ๐Ÿ™‚ Let me answer your Question. I believe what is unique about you is that God designed you to be a true and genuine Leader. I remember the first time connecting with you and I could sense and feel your passion. Your love for Christ, and your burning desire to share that with the world and everyone that has come in contact with you. Your passion bleeds through and you are changing lives of those you come in contact with. Can’t thank you enough for the inspiration you have become for me. Enjoy your day Intentionally.

Happy Birthday toooo Youuuuu!!! My response to your question parallels what I shared today in a two-week beta test of daily biblical business insights. Here is the text from today- “Act 4: Bold Courage. The first recorded prayer of the church was not for protect, comfort, wealth, or possessions but for boldness and wonders. As marketplace leaders, we must also be this bold or we will simply remain in our comfortable, convenient, don’t rock the boat shells. Impact Insight: Today decide you are not ashamed of the Gospel and will pray for boldness whenever a holy opportunity arises.” This is you, Paul – a bold marketplace warrior called to raise up a new generation of more bold marketplace warriors! Finish your race!

  • I think your heart makes you unique, Paul. What I see is a young guy who wants to truly help others realize their calling. That can come only from the heart!

Happy Birthday, Paul! I am impressed with the quality content you share each week – a refreshing mixture from others and your own life and heart. I love the variety in your posts and can’t think of just one favorite… Although it might be this one! ๐Ÿ™‚ …a great idea I might “borrow” for my own blog! Keep up the great work and enjoy your day! May God bless you with many, many more!

Happy Birthday, Paul. I am most impressed with your dedication and passion for your mission. In the time we worked together, that was always apparent. You first impressed me during a meeting we both attended where you spoke out about the importance of understanding what each team member brought to the project we were discussing. You are 28, I am 67 – I hope to be as wise as you when I grow up! ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy birthday Paul,i am yet to know you more, but for now all i can say is that you are a shinning light to many.

Here’s my comment: “No leader sets out to be a leader. People set out to live their lives, expressing themselves fully. When that expression is of value, they become leaders. The point is to become yourself; to use yourself completely — all your skills, gifts and energies — in order to achieve hat you ere made to be.” (Warren Bennis) Happy Birthday.

You are unique, as are we all, Paul, but your uniqueness stems from your courage and conviction to share and spread the Word, the Good News of Jesus the Savior God! I wish I’d been so wise at 28, rather than falling away several times before deciding never to forsake Him again. You stand out because of your courage, and that you put yourself at risk with the enemy and his attacks through your website, aptly named for your character and who you are! You shined with me when you offered me a free e-book for merely allowing me to connect with one wiser than I, and I’m grateful for your generosity, courage, and stamina; for taking risks for the Kingdom that many are too fearful to do in this ugly century of liberals censoring we who speak the Name above every other Name. You are strong for having courage, and knowing Christ will always have your back, and for continuing despite the naysayers who would persecute you and attempt to censure you if able. You are a role model for many who need to remember the one phrase God Almighty repeats more than any other in His Word: do not fear; with your example, many can also join the rest of us who fear only the One who can destroy body and soul!

Paul, you are a learner. But not just for knowledge sake. You seek to learn so that you can serve others in more effective ways for the sake of the Gospel. What a beautiful testimony these past 28 years have been. What powerful ways He will continue to shine through you.

  • Happy birthday Paul! Since I’ve know you, your passion for Christ and for people truly shines through. You are als great at sharing great resources. Blessings to you!

  • Paul, to me your strength is your passion for relationships. You seek out those whom you admire and soak up the knowledge they have to offer. Which is great in and of itself, but you take it even a step further, digest it, and share it with you audience in a manner they can digest it and learn from it. I thouroughly enjoy your articles and look forward to a continued friendship.

  • Paul, I am a fairly new reader of your blog. I want you to know that I am blessed each time I read it. I think one of your gifts is the ability to be forward-looking in your perspective on the church and church leadership. That’s what young leaders want and need to see.

  • Samuel Thomas, Jr.

Paul, your genuine investment in people is constant and consistent. Your network of consultants and transformational leaders is proof your impact is beyond those who are only connected electronically.Your reach is God breathed. Your impact Spirit led. Your expanding world is Providential. God rewards faithfulness and selflessness.

    Happy Birthday.

What makes you unique is your authenticity, accessibility, and humility. I love how you seek wholeheartedly to advance God’s kingdom through providing the latest and greatest information on leadership. You are a leader of leaders! Happy birthday Paul!

  • Hi Paul, for the short time I have been a reader of your blog, your passion for what you do is evident. That is a a great indicator of who you are. You seem to have a real heart to help others. So much in the blog world focuses on making $ and often comes across as fake. Stay strong and stay true to who you are. You are often a great start

  • Happy Birthday Paul! Hope you are having a great day. I appreciate that you always have something great to say with each post.

  • Jeff O.

Happy Birthday, Paul! It was great to have you be a part of our Missional Community for a little while! I always appreciated your ability to communicate clearly and show genuine care for others.

I share your tendency to focus on the future and occasional discontent of the present. I’ve recently realized that I’m already the person I want to be; I just pray that I can still become even better. I can confidently say that you’re also already the person you envision being, but I know you’ll keep working hard to become even better. Thanks for sharing all of your thoughts and lessons along the way, it’s a blessing to all of us!

  • Gladis Reyes Pimentel

Happy Birthday Paul! Hope it has been an amazing day! It’s really admiring to see you live your Calling with so much passion and dedication. There is nothing greater than when our life and work points to the one who it all belongs to, Jesus! You are a great example of that!
I have learned so much and constantly being challenged by your posts, thank you!

  • Happy Birthday Paul. What I would say to your request is ‘BE WHAT YOU ARE, CONTRIBUTE TO THE WORLD WHAT YOU CAN (your genuine concern for sharing people and teach people through what you read has made a great difference to many) and LIVE HAPPILY THANKING GOD . THAT MAKES YOU THE HAPPIEST MAN EVER! You may never know the future, as it’s not in your hands.

28!!! Happy Birthday, Paul. You are a mighty man of God. Favorite moment? I LOVE that you committed 2 Timothy to memory. You bring the presence of God where you go. Unique? Your intentionality inspires the rest of us to be intentional. Strength? Many times you’ve given me glimpses of how I might be positioned with greater servant-leadership within my growing sphere of influence. You’re an exemplary writer.
