Catalyst 2017 LIVE Notes // Tim Tebow on How to Stay Courageous When Life Gets Tough

I’m live blogging from Catalyst Conference. Catalyst is a next-generation conference that embolden leaders from all over the world. The theme of Catalyst for 2017 is “Of Good Courage.” Tim Tebow is a Heisman Trophy Winner and author of Shaken and Through My Eyes.

It matters what you team you’re on. It matters who’s on your team. Together you’re crushing it. But, there’s a lot of time in life where you’re fired up, life happens. A lot of little things in life that happens starts to dissipate.

How do you get back up? How do you stay courageous even if life gets tough. Let me be honest. It’s easy to be courageous here. What do you do when it gets hard?

  1. Know Your Title.

I got a chance to talk to governors and generals. When they walk in, people know them by title. They got amazing titles. As Christians, we don’t think our title is not that great. The biggest you’ll ever have is you are a child of God. I am the child of the God, son of the King. That is the title. That is what I hold on to. People don’t follow titles, they follow the courage. I walk around with sacrifice because people who are going to follow are going to my courage. Know your title but people aren’t going to follow you because of your title. They follow you for your courage.

  2. Take a Look Back and Remember.

What I am facing is so much bigger than me. How can I go through this? Take a look back and remember all the times you felt hopeless and in despair and what God has done in your life. 94 million people googled John 3:16 during His championship game. How big our God is when we just step out in faith. I’m going to choose a to be a bit different. The God that we serve is so much than a game. The God that we serve is a very big God. I don’t get to live by feelings I live by conviction.

  3. Know Your God is Bigger than the Giant.

There’s so many giants you’ll face of your life. Giant of fear, the unknown. I want to impact a lot of people. There are so giants that creep into your life. How do you deal with those giants? Remember how big your God is. I love the story of David and Goliath. David didn’t go into the battle thinking my skill, my knowledge is going to defeat the giant. Guess what. My teammate, my God is bigger than the giant which will ever be. I believe David picked up five pebbles. Goliath had 4 relatives. That’s why David picked up 5. The confidence that he had was huge. Remember the God is bigger than anyone of you.
